Find your travel inspiration
If you’re looking for travel inspiration it’s not hard to find nice beach towns on the west coast. Above all, the West Coast has some of the most diverse landscapes in the entire United States, ranging from deserts to rainforests. But when it comes to beaches, the sandy beaches along the Pacific Ocean are always impressive, as are the neighboring cities. Whether you prefer traditional beaches for surfing or misty villages for contemplative morning walks, a little stretch of the Pacific Coast awaits. Here we’ve rounded up the best beach towns on the west coast, with some recommendations for what to do during your visit (besides swimming and sunbathing, of course).
San Francisco, California
When it comes to the best places to visit on the west coast, San Francisco is at the top it is truly amazing! If this is your first time here, you’ll want to see some of the popular attractions like:
- Fisherman’s Wharf
- Alcatraz
- Haight Street
- Lombard Street
- Golden Gate Bridge.
But the city has so much more to offer than just that. One of my favorite things to do is drive across the Golden Gate Bridge and into Muir Woods to see some of these giant redwood trees. There are also many hiking trails there, so bring your walking shoes. For one of the West Coast’s tastiest breakfasts head to Acme Bread. They do an epic apple turnover, just be prepared for some queues if you’re visiting over the weekend.
